Welcome
Westfield Cottage lies at the heart
of the owner’s stock farm in a stunning situation in Upper
Coquetdale, on the edge of The Northumberland National Park and
close to the geographical centre of the county. Click here to
view a location map.
The cottage itself commands superb views to the
South towards the Simonside Hills and to the East over the Rothbury
Hills. It’s
more intimate views are over the meandering Wreigh Burn which
runs through the farm.
This low-lying land is designated a "Site
of Special Scientific Interest" and is home to a host
of birdlife as well as otters, deer, badgers and foxes. There
are trout in the burn and a good run of salmon twice a year.
Despite the farm’s
complete seclusion, the charming village of Rothbury is only
three miles away and Thropton, even closer, has a post office,
garage and two pubs offering bar and restaurant meals. |
