The Cottage

The cottage was originally a farm-workers bothy. It later became home to the local water bailiff who would have been able to keep an eye out for poachers without straying too far from his fireside. More recently it has been home to a nationally-respected gallery specialising in ceramics and fine crafts.

It has now been restored, extended and transformed into a wonderfully spacious holiday home, full of light and colour and with great attention being paid to detail and the use of natural materials. It comfortably accommodates four people, with ample room for a cot in the large, en suite, double bedroom. It is, of course, centrally heated throughout with additional warmth and comfort from the wood-burning stove.

The cottage has its own secluded garden and a stile leads directly onto grazing land alongside the burn. Our guests are welcome to wander through the farm and woodlands – children might like to picnic near or paddle in the burn.
